hi everyone just wondering if anyone knows much about this kwikKerb edging business i've got the bloke sending me some info i was just toying with the idea of maybe joining this to my business i think they would go good together but the lay out fee wait for it!! $80.000 thats right $80k the bloke told me what you get and i think its a bit rich think he's makeing $70k profit

the list goes on all with one weeks training what a load of s#@t
the to machines and the trowles that go with the machine would be
under $2000.00 at least thats my guess does anybody know of anyone who does this or what the machines cost would loved to know the bloke also said you can make up to $1500.00 to $2500.00 a day at $25.00 to $35.00 a meter thats not including prep work and then minus out ya cost for materials sand and stone and cement this is only if ya get the work to me i think its a bit rich but i'll wait for all the info he said its not a franchisebecause when you purcase the equipment its yours you dont pay frachise fees there must be a but at the end .

Five years ago i look into kwik kerb,they were at Jeff's shed and it was at a franchise weekend promotion. Your cost was only $38,000 for a trailor full of all the equipment which had to come from brisbane. But before you get that far you had to spend 2 week's in brisbane for training at your cost. They give you advertising support for 1 month and then your on your own. A lot of work so far no guarantee of income.So in 5 years the equipment & 1 weeks training at double the price. :cool:

Well well well can I tell you a bit about crap kerb ( I mean kwik kerb)

Yeah it's all about high pressure sales... we got sucked in in 2001 and after the three days training and it was very airy fairy ... we went out on our own and knew absolutely nothing... we paid $37,400 for a demo model and it certainly wasn't worth that or anywhere near $80,000!!

We got no ongoing support and had to learn ourselves on the job. Quoting took a lot out of the day competing with backyard guys who had very little overheads.. advertising was all up to us as they never gave us leads as promised! Basically after 12 months we were insolvent and they wouldn't even buy back the equipment .. then they offerred us $4000 !! so we soldiered on built up the mowing business and did KK part time during winter till we sold it to some poor bugger for $14,000 who we trained ourselves and he went out under his own banner as KK wanted to charge him $7500 for three days training.... so steer clear anyone they are a bunch of rip off merchants with no morals at all!!!!

There are always Kwik Kerp businesses for sale in the paper here, I think that says it all! Quite often the poor buggers end up selling the equipment thru the trader for a couple of grand coz they can't sell it as a business! :( :(

I was considering adding kerbing to my mowing business,they sent me the info. I then stopped off at franchisees I saw around and asked their opinion and they all said the same thing, inferior equipment, you can not build up a business to sell because it is all one off work, most home builders have their own equipment to do kerbs so little if any new work in new estates which is one of their biggest advertising draw cards. You travell hundreds of Kms so overheads are high. When you sell the equipment it has to be A1 condition due to contract arrangements, and quess where the equipment needs to come from.
I was told to stay mowing lawns, it is not worth it. And they were trying to off load kerbing and mow lawns.

As long as you target the landscapers and builders and pick up a few, there is your income, sounds to me like you would be better off buying the equipment brand new to save some bucks, that is if you are really considering it.
I would definately be starting from scratch as you might find "any regular clients" that you get could go with someone else who has been doing it alot longer.

Also I don't know how often you would be charging $35.00 per meter, I have found that the ones I have used all charge between $15.00 to $23.00 p/m depending on style, colour etc

Kwik Kerb must be one of the worst business opportunities anyone could buy... I've just been told its now $95,000!!! for a business unit
I've looked at it and cant see how it would cost more than $15000 - $20,000 at a Max to produce ...HUGE up front profit to kwik Kerb
I see lots of unfortunate souls selling virtually unused Units for around $20,000
